Henri Selmer Paris Mark VI Tenor Saxophone – 1962 – Fully Overhauled

£7,250.00

Serial Number: 104493 | Professionally Overhauled by Edinburgh Music Centre

An exceptional opportunity to own an early-production 1962 Henri Selmer Paris Mark VI Tenor Saxophone, one of the most iconic and sought-after professional saxophones ever manufactured.

The Selmer Mark VI needs little introduction to serious saxophonists. Revered by generations of professional musicians, it is renowned for its distinctive tonal character, expressive flexibility and outstanding French craftsmanship.

This example, serial number 104493, represents a wonderful opportunity to acquire an early Mark VI that has received a complete professional overhaul through our own workshop at Edinburgh Music Centre.

FULLY OVERHAULED – NO IMMEDIATE OVERHAUL EXPENSE

One of the biggest considerations when purchasing a vintage Mark VI is its mechanical condition and whether it requires expensive workshop attention before it can be properly enjoyed.

Unlike many vintage Mark VI saxophones offered for sale, this instrument has already benefited from a full professional overhaul.

The work has been carried out by our own experienced workshop team at Edinburgh Music Centre, with careful attention to the instrument's mechanical condition, keywork, regulation and overall playing performance.

Following the overhaul, the saxophone has been personally inspected and play-tested by our team and professionally prepared for sale.

The new owner can enjoy the reassurance of purchasing a fully overhauled vintage Mark VI without having to budget for an immediate overhaul on top of the purchase price.

At Edinburgh Music Centre, we take enormous pride in our workshop standards. Our specialist saxophone workshop is at the heart of what we do, and we believe that instruments of this importance deserve the highest level of care and attention.

THE LEGENDARY SELMER MARK VI

Produced between 1954 and 1974, the Mark VI is widely regarded as one of the finest saxophone designs ever created.

The early 1960s examples are particularly interesting to players and collectors, representing a highly regarded period in the instrument's production.

The Mark VI is celebrated for its:

  • Rich, complex and beautifully expressive tonal character.
  • Warmth combined with excellent projection.
  • Exceptional tonal flexibility and dynamic range.
  • Responsive playing feel.
  • Outstanding French engineering and craftsmanship.
  • Enduring reputation among professional saxophonists worldwide.

Whether playing jazz, classical, big band or contemporary music, the Mark VI offers a distinctive voice that has inspired generations of musicians.
