Brass Lessons with Jesùs Lorente González

Jesús started playing the trombone at the age of 8 in his local wind band in Tobarra, Spain. In 2019, he graduated from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland where he studied with Simon Johnson, Davur Juul Magnussen and Lance Green. During his time in the RCS, he took part in the RSNO Apprenticeship Scheme and the BBC SSO Mentoring Scheme. He also received awards such as David James Brass Prize and Mary D Adams Prize for Chamber Music.

Since 2016, Jesús has been teaching brass in primary and secondary schools across North Lanarkshire, Renfrewshire and Sistema Scotland.

As well as teaching, Jesús works as a freelance musician playing a great variety of styles, from classical to jazz and rock. One of his highlights is the premiere of ‘Ebb & Flow’ by Lisa Robertson on BBC Radio Scotland, a piece for solo trombone composed for him as part of a Nevis Ensemble project.
